Find answers to the most common questions about our refurbished devices, parts and repair services.
Drop Zone Repairs is a UK-based specialist in refurbished phones, replacement parts, and professional repair services. We focus on transparency, quality, and sustainability. Every device is tested, cleaned, repaired (if necessary), and restored to full functionality before being sold. Our commitment is to offer premium devices at fair prices with the reliability customers expect from a modern, professional refurbishment service.
Trust is earned by consistency and transparency. We back all our work with a 1-month parts warranty and 6-month warranty on all repairs, provide detailed testing reports, log all internal component serial numbers, and clearly list any replaced parts. We only sell devices that pass our full diagnostic checklist, and we stand behind everything we put our name on.
Yes. All devices undergo strict diagnostic evaluation including battery cycles, display quality, network tests, audio tests, and motherboard-level checks. Devices are sanitised, reset, and confirmed to be free from activation locks, malware, or linked accounts.
A refurbished device from Drop Zone Repairs is a previously owned phone that has been thoroughly inspected, repaired if necessary, cleaned, tested, and verified to work like it should. We replace faulty components, ensure strong battery performance, apply new gaskets during screen replacements, and guarantee the device is ready for daily use.
We use a transparent grading system:
Grade A: Very light signs of use; excellent condition; screen may show only micro-scratches visible under bright light.
Grade B: Light-to-moderate cosmetic wear such as light scratches or small marks on frame/back.
Grade C: Noticeable signs of use including scratches or small dents. Perfect for budget buyers who prioritise function over appearance.
Every listing includes actual cosmetic notes, not generic templates.
Unless stated otherwise, our refurbished devices are supplied without accessories. This ensures you only pay for the device itself and helps reduce unnecessary electronic waste.
We do, however, offer a selection of optional accessories, including:
charging cables
charging plugs
tempered glass screen protectors
cases
These can be purchased separately at checkout or from our Accessories section.
Yes. Our refurbishment process focuses heavily on internal reliability — battery, display, charging system, sensors, and internal flex cables are all tested. Most refurbished devices last just as long as new devices, especially if maintained properly and kept updated.
We prioritise OEM pulled parts — components taken from original devices — as they provide the closest match to factory performance. If OEM is not available, we use premium aftermarket options:
Soft OLED for OLED devices
Quality LCD replacements for LCD models
High-cycle batteries with near-OEM performance
High-quality housings where originals are no longer obtainable
We avoid cheap, low-grade replacements.
Some refurbished iPhones may show a “Non-Genuine Part” message for components such as the screen, battery, or camera. This is completely normal for any repair carried out outside of Apple’s own service network — even when the replacement part is high quality or originally OEM.
These messages:
do not affect performance
do not limit features
do not impact battery life
do not indicate a fault
They simply mean the part has not been paired using Apple’s internal tools, which only Apple Stores and authorised repair centres have access to.
All parts fitted by Drop Zone Repairs — whether OEM pulls or high-quality equivalents — are fully tested, safe, and work exactly as they should. We always list any replaced parts clearly in each device description.

We replace any battery below 90% health. This ensures reliable long-term performance and prevents customer dissatisfaction due to ageing batteries.
Yes. Battery health is a software-based estimate that can adjust slightly with new iOS versions or usage patterns. This is normal and does not indicate a fault. If a new iOS version is released while your phone is in transit, it may show different health after updating.
Yes. We use OEM pulls where possible, otherwise high-quality aftermarket batteries that meet UK safety standards. All batteries are tested for charge capacity, charge rate, and temperature regulation.
